Wicked Lights are back with their new single ‘Grasping At Straws’.
The band is an indie-rock project from Two Charuson. Having moved from Thailand to the British countryside for school, he grew up finding inspiration from the likes of Eric Clapton, Prince, Jeff Tweedy, Neil Young, Elliott Smith and Joy Division.
“A song about getting caught up in the game, which the protagonist realises isn’t the right path forward,” Charuson says of the new track. “Sometimes it’s necessary in order to do something. We have to take the long way round. With urgency and often feels we’re desperate to do whatever it takes. We get pummelled or thrown into the mud and to crawl out of the mud. We realise failure is only a part of it. There are also positives in the bad times we face. There is always a light at the end of a long tunnel. We take it all in our stride and we should pay no mind. We carry on, with a sense of poise and a little humour. At the end of the day, it’s only pheromones. Shit you simply cannot control most of the time.”
Wicked Lights released their four track EP ‘Have A Nice Dream’ last year, with three full-length LP’s and a six-track Thai language EP still to come.
