HotWax have launched their debut album ‘Hot Shock’, due in March

HotWax are gearing up to release their debut album ‘Hot Shock’.

The full-length is due on 7th March via Marathon Artists, with the announcement arriving alongside the release of lead single ‘She’s Got A Problem’.

The Hastings trio recorded with Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Wolf Alice) and Steph Marziano (Picture Parlour, Cassandra Jenkins), and an all-female team at London’s RAK Studios, with additional recording taking place in Joshua Tree with Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa.

Singer Tallulah Sim-Savage explains how the collaboration with Marks came about: “It was the sweatiest gig we have ever done – it was really, really packed. Afterwards, Catherine came up to us and said, ‘Oh my god, I need to record your album with you. I want it to sound like the energy in this room. It needs to feel like a party’.”

Bassist Lola Sam adds of the album’s themes: “Touring and constantly living in the moment can be chaotic. But there’s also a feeling of knowing that the more life experience we gain, the more fearless we become.”

HotWax will celebrate the album release with a series of instore performances in March. They will also support The Libertines and Warmduscher on select dates.
