Lucky Iris have released their new EP, ‘something to believe in’

Leeds alt-pop duo Lucky Iris have released their new EP ‘something to believe in’

The release – out via EMI North and Launchpad+ – was mixed by Richard Wilkinson, known for his work with Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Kaiser Chiefs, and mastered by Antony Ryan, who has worked with Oh Wonder, Hannah Diamond, and Sugababes.

Lead vocalist Maeve explains the concept behind the EP: “‘something to believe in’ is about leading with your whole heart before your head. The songs are a story of playful self discovery, casual existentialism and falling in love with your friends. Together I hope they give you a little look into the world of Lucky Iris… and to be honest the world of Lucky Iris is pretty much a nicely dressed up version of my own life… and I love living in it… most of the time, hehe! It’s a world full of synths, football memorabilia and flirting; mixed with a taste of influences we’ve picked up along the way. I struggle to get out of my own head so instead I’m letting you in. And when all is lost, sometimes you just need something to believe in, and sometimes that’s football, sometimes it’s your friends… and sometimes, it’s an alt-pop band.”
