ratbag has released her latest single ‘pinky girl’.
The track serves as a companion piece to her previous release ‘pinky boy’, which came out in August, adopting the perspective of the original title character’s girlfriend.
ratbag explains: “pinky girl is about girlfriends being cooler than their boyfriends. much, much cooler. it calls out men who do the absolute bare minimum in the relationship and call it enough. and it’s about girlfriends and how they beg to find ways around resorting to murder. half the time men are oblivious to how great their girlfriends are. sometimes when i see half decent men with their really cool girlfriends, i just wanna shake them and force their eyelids open.”

The single follows ratbag’s debut EP ‘why aren’t you laughing?’, released last year. ratbag has a series of headline shows in Australia and New Zealand coming up; the dates are as follows:
OCTOBER
23 Whammy Bar, Auckland, New Zealand
30 Northcote Social Club, Melbourne, Australia
31 The Lansdowne, Sydney, Australia
