War Child have launched a Bowie-inspired ‘Sound & Vision’ fundraising auction

War Child have launched a David Bowie-inspired fundraising auction.

Titled Sound & Vision, it features artwork from 33 artists responding to the iconic Bowie lyric ‘We like dancing and we look divine’. The global online auction runs until 1st October via Art on a Postcard.

George Underwood, Bowie’s childhood friend and album art designer, is among the contributing artists. He says: “David was passionate about War Child. I think it’s very important now, more than ever. The wars that are going on in the world. The children that are suffering. I immediately said yes.”

Other artists involved include National Portrait Gallery Portrait Award-winner Ishbel Myerscough, Stuart Semple, Harland Miller, Nettie Wakefield, Jonathan Schofield and Joseph Dupré.

The initiative marks 30 years since Bowie curated War Child’s first charity art exhibition. Visit artonapostcard.com for more information.
