Hex Girlfriend ponder death, time and nostalgia with their new single, ‘Graveyard on a Beach’

Hex Girlfriend Noah Yorke and James Knott – have shared their new single ‘Graveyard on a Beach’, released via sly-tone records.

The track is taken from the duo’s upcoming EP ‘No Golf Cart Parking’, set for release on 22nd November, and follows their previous releases ‘Cafe Culture’ and ‘Itch’.

The band discuss the track, saying: “‘Graveyard on a Beach’ is a song about time passing, and about how nostalgia for past times is both a collective thing that everyone experiences and also a very individual, personal thing that can be hard to articulate to someone else. It’s meant to have that feeling of nostalgia where it’s hard to figure out where it actually comes from, like seeing old home videos from the 1960s, or hearing old songs that your grandparents listened to: even though you weren’t necessarily there it can really fascinate you and draw you in. It shows that we find things ‘nostalgic’ for individual, personal reasons and also because we as a society do hold some kind of collective memory, of things that went before and of all the people that have lived and died before our time. Maybe no-one ever really dies?”
