Metronomy have collaborated with Porij for their latest single ‘Petit Boy’.
The release follows Metronomy’s ‘Posse EP Volume 2’, which featured collaborations with various artists including Pan Amsterdam, Naima Bock, Joshua Idehen, Nourished by Time, Faux Real & Miki, Lynks, SPIDER, Master Peace and TaliaBle.
Porij comment: “It was a joyous experience getting to collaborate with Metronomy on this track. It’s a silly tongue in cheek song about dealing with insecurities within ourself and others. We started it many moons ago and came back to it recently with fresh ears and thought it was decent haha. Very much looking forward to finally getting it out in the world.”
Mount explains the concept behind the ‘Posse’ projects: “It’s realising you have a value within the music industry. For newer artists you can do something. You have a reach they don’t and they’re excited by it. It’s a great way of feeling connected to a wave like the one I was part of.” He added, “The more I do stuff with other people the more excited I get about doing my own music again… For me it’s a way of separating myself from the last 20 years of what I’ve done. You want to be proud of it – and then move on.”
Alongside the single release, Porij have announced their debut headline European tour for January 2025:
