Welly have unveiled their new single and video ‘Cul-de-Sac’.
The track – a love song about hitting a dead end – arrives alongside the southern leg of The National Service Tour, comprising 14 UK dates commencing next week.
Frontman Welly says of the inspiration behind ‘Cul-de-Sac’: “The girl-next-door, except you’ve both grown up a bit now and the WKD isn’t as sweet as it used to be. So whilst it’s fun to go back down the streets we used to own, we realise we’ve far outgrown them… but have we outgrown each other?
“This was the main idea for the music video; ‘Cul-de-Sac’ was never meant to be a single, so I’d never bothered to dream up a visual for it to live in. But once my arm was forced, and I was scrambling for any old nonsense to film, my director, Harvey Payne, came up with the model village concept. Perfect. And a perfect excuse to spend an evening half-drunk pretending I’m the indie-dance Godzilla.”
