Del Water Gap has unveiled a new single, ‘Purple Teeth, The Bravery’.
It’s a cut from a new Deluxe Edition of second album ‘I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet’, set for release on 16th August via Mom + Pop Music.
The Deluxe Edition will feature three bonus tracks, including the new single, ‘Midas’, and a live recording of ‘Doll House’. This release follows Del Water Gap’s recent duet with Holly Humberstone, ‘Cigarettes & Wine’.
Describing the new track, Del Water Gap explains: “It’s a story about having enough red wine that you suddenly get all brave, and you’re spinning and pushing yourself around and saying a lot of shit you’ve been holding onto and hurting over. And you sleep it off, and you wake up in the morning and you can’t really remember what you said, but you look in the mirror and your teeth are still purple from the night before – and just like that, the guilt starts creeping in. The groundhog day of hurting and burying the hatchet, bottling up and boiling over again and again.”
‘I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet’ was inspired by a note found in Del Water Gap’s grandfather’s William Carlos Williams poetry book. The album features contributions from Arlo Parks and Clairo, and was produced by Del Water Gap alongside Sammy Witte and Ethan Gruska.
Del Water Gap will be supporting Niall Horan on his UK tour, with dates as follows:
