HONNE reflect on missing loved ones with their new single ‘Say That You Will Wait For Me’, featuring Liang Lawrence

HONNE have released ‘Say That You Will Wait For Me’, featuring UK artist Liang Lawrence.

The track is the final preview of the London-based duo’s, comprising Andy Clutterbuck and James Hatcher, upcoming album ‘OUCH’, set for release on 6th September.

Reflecting on the track, Clutterbuck shares, “‘Say That You Will Wait For Me’ is a familiar subject matter for us. It’s about going away and missing the heck out of someone. This song really touches a nerve however, as now I’m a parent, it’s doubly hard to say goodbye and to leave. It’s also heartbreaking to leave your kid behind as when you say goodbye you know they don’t understand that you aren’t coming home that evening. ‘Say That You Will Wait For Me’ is my way of saying please say you’ll remember me when I get back from.”

‘OUCH’ marks a new chapter for HONNE, being released through their own Smile More Recordings in partnership with AWAL Recordings. The album’s themes are deeply personal, with Clutterbuck explaining, “The new album is largely about my kids. It’s about the wonderful things they bring to your life, but then also the isolation parenthood can bring, before coming through the other side. It’s a playful way to say: it’s wonderful, but it’s going to hurt.”
